The INTDXHI (Interior Design Exhibit) Batch of 2024 is a dynamic group of Benildean students which comprises 27 members from the Interior Design program of the esteemed De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, Design & Arts Campus.Hereby entrusted to carry out Benildean skills and values and bring forth innovative, inclusive, and transformative design solutions. We empathize with a healing community through renovating the Positive Action Foundation Philippines Incorporated (PAFPI) testing center as this also reflects our combined efforts and blazing passion for a human-centered interior design.

Our mission is to advocate HIV awareness by way of empowered learning campaigns, postings, fundraisings and events to service-refurbish an existing PAFPI testing center, and equip support for HIV councilors and the significant People Living with HIV.

Project Alpas envisions a united society that is driven on panic prevention and social stigma mitigation through adequate awareness about HIV. It hopes to abolish discrimination among PLHIVs while encouraging a candid HIV screening for an unrestrained community.

Formed in 1998 by Joshua Formentera, the Positive Action Foundation Philippines Incorporated (PAFPI) is a non-profit organization that aims to empower people and their families living with HIV/AIDS (PLHIVs) by providing them aid, support, and access to medication and care services. The organization also promotes the prevention and control of HIV and AIDS in the Philippines through support services and responses to the needs of the PLHIVs and their families by provision of care and support services. Their mission revolves around creating a society where individuals affected by HIV/AIDS can live with dignity, free from discrimination and stigma. The organization's holistic approach to care reflects its understanding of the multifaceted challenges faced by PLHIVs, extending beyond medical assistance to address mental health, education, and community engagement. The prevention and control initiatives undertaken by PAFPI underscore its dedication to combating the spread of HIV/AIDS. Nonetheless through awareness campaigns, education programs, and community outreach, the organization strives to make a lasting impact on the public health in the Philippines.

The Positive Action Foundation Philippines Incorporated (PAFPI), located discreetly in 2613 Dian St., San Andres Bukid, Malate, Metro Manila, serves as a beacon of support in the fight against HIV. The facility is divided into two main areas, the larger one is the Testing Area and the smaller but equally important area is the Social Workspace. This covers a total area of 43.37 square meters. The Testing Area provides a waiting and lounge area, two computer stations, a specialized testing table, and a small kitchen. The perimeter interior walls are painted in purple and yellow colors which symbolizes the center's dedication for a health supportive environment. Despite absolute design conditions, several design details present challenges for a better working interior environment. The initial site visit has fueled the observation of limited privacies during counseling and testing activities, insufficiencies in storages, unconcealed cable wirings, inferior lighting conditions, and a lack of flexibility for maximizing a multi-functional space. Apart from these, some concerns were raised about the testing center’s facade being restrained for easier recognition, ventilation in the counseling area, flooding threats, and the differing emotional well-being of clients that require enough attention and careful consideration for an effective and empathetic service delivery.
